We are proud to let you know of the great support and sponsorship that the skate park has received since its opening.
Adur Distict Council and local companies have generously helped our project with funding, services and free facilities.
We also have many brilliant supporters who back our events with products, prizes and freebies
After the original funding from the Big Lottery and Viridor credits to create the skateboard facility, we the user group have taken on some smaller projects and the ongoing maintenance.
Southern Water met with the user group and agreed to donate and install a drinking-water fountain. The job was a lot bigger than anticipated as they had to run the water pipes across the road and in to the park. They now provide us with free drinking water and service support.
The next build project was to add lighting to the Bowl for evening skating and develop a simple skate area suitable for beginners to learn on. Biffa Award chose our double project to support with a £49,000 grant towards both ideas. Part of the lighting scheme involved installing the essential electricity supply. UK Power Networks were contacted and they agreed to provide this work for our project for free! Once again the road had to be dug up to lay the cables to connect the skate park. Now we have lighting and mains power for events and maintenance work.
Shoreham skatepark is registered with Entrust as an environmental body. This allows us to receive Landfill community funding.
Thank you to these guys
Right from day one Adur District Council has encouraged the skatepark user group to keep developing and maintaining the facility. The skatepark would not of happened without our fantastic council's support. Landscaping, benches, the noticeboard, litter picking, graffiti removal, technical support. It happens every day for us.
We also have many brilliant supporters who back our events with products, prizes and freebies. OceanSports, Flour Pot bakery, Vans store Brighton, Insane, Vikings of skate, Punker Bunker, Santa Cruz skateboards, Independent trucks, Axl distribution, Shiner skateboards, Z-Flex, Kryptonics, Jimmy'z. This list is continually growing…
